  • Total Time: 17 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup apple cider
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the apple cider and allow it to cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
  4. In another bowl, combine granulated sugar and egg into the cooled butter-cider mixture until smooth.
  5. Gently mix in dry ingredients until just combined; avoid over-mixing.
  6. Prepare the donut pan by spraying it with cooking spray. Transfer batter into a piping bag or spoon it into the pan.
  7. Bake for about 7 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow donuts to cool for a minute before transferring to a cooling rack.
  9. Prepare topping by melting remaining butter and mixing cinnamon with sugars.
  10. Dip each cooled donut in melted butter and coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
