- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the apple cider and allow it to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
- In another bowl, combine granulated sugar and egg into the cooled butter-cider mixture until smooth.
- Gently mix in dry ingredients until just combined; avoid over-mixing.
- Prepare the donut pan by spraying it with cooking spray. Transfer batter into a piping bag or spoon it into the pan.
- Bake for about 7 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow donuts to cool for a minute before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Prepare topping by melting remaining butter and mixing cinnamon with sugars.
- Dip each cooled donut in melted butter and coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
