- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup milk chocolate chips
- 3 oz dark chocolate bar, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch.
- In a stand mixer, cream the butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped dark chocolate bar until evenly distributed.
- Chill the dough for at least one hour before scooping large balls onto the prepared baking sheet (space them about 3 inches apart).
- Bake for about 15-18 minutes or until edges are set but centers appear slightly underbaked.
- Allow them to cool on the baking sheet before enjoying!
