- ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
- ¼ cup bourbon or whiskey
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 2½ lb tri-tip steak
- 1½ tablespoons butter
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together soy sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, mustard, bourbon, Cajun seasoning, garlic, thyme, and rosemary. Reserve ⅓ cup of this marinade.
- Coat the tri-tip steak in the marinade and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes or overnight.
- Preheat your grill over medium-high heat.
- Grill the steak for about 10 minutes per side until it reaches an internal temperature of 130°F.
- While grilling, simmer the reserved marinade in a small pot until thickened; stir in butter until melted.
- Let the steak rest for 7-10 minutes before slicing against the grain and brushing with glaze.
