  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
  • ¼ cup bourbon or whiskey

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • lb tri-tip steak
  • 1½ tablespoons butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together soy sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, mustard, bourbon, Cajun seasoning, garlic, thyme, and rosemary. Reserve ⅓ cup of this marinade.
  2. Coat the tri-tip steak in the marinade and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes or overnight.
  3. Preheat your grill over medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the steak for about 10 minutes per side until it reaches an internal temperature of 130°F.
  5. While grilling, simmer the reserved marinade in a small pot until thickened; stir in butter until melted.
