Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef or turkey
- 2 cans kidney beans
- 2 small green peppers
- 1 small yellow onion
- 2 cans diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 can tomato paste
- 15 ounces water
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 3 tablespoons cumin
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- ½ teaspoon baking soda (optional)
Instructions
- Sauté diced green peppers and onions in a Dutch oven until translucent.
- Add spices (except baking soda) and stir for 1-2 minutes.
- Brown the ground beef or turkey in the pot.
- Mix in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water, and tomato paste; stir well.
- Simmer for about 15 minutes before adding drained kidney beans.
- Stir in baking soda; continue cooking until bubbling subsides.
- Remove from heat and serve hot with your choice of accompaniments.
