Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup ketchup (plus additional for glazing)
- 1 tbsp broth in place of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, eggs, ketchup, broth, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.
- Spread additional ketchup over the top of the loaf.
- Bake for 60-75 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Allow resting for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
