Instructions
- Prepare the blackberry sauce by combining blackberries, sugar, water, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon in a medium pot. Simmer until the berries soften.
- For the dumpling dough, mix together flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly and stir in buttermilk until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering sauce and cover tightly. Cook on low heat for about 10 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Serve warm with additional blackberry sauce and toppings like whipped cream or ice cream.
