Instructions
- Prepare the crunchy topping by dissolving sugar in water over medium heat; stir in almond extract and let cool.
- Mix softened butter and sugar until fluffy, then add almond flour, egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract.
- Slice each croissant in half and fill generously with the almond mixture.
- Brush the tops with cooled syrup and sprinkle sliced almonds over each croissant.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 13 minutes until golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm.
