Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and powdered sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
- Add vanilla extract, flour, and salt; mix on low speed until just combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Transfer to a cooling rack and sprinkle crushed candy canes on top while still warm.
- Dust with additional powdered sugar before serving if desired.
