- 1.5 – 2 pounds flank steak
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- Spice mix (cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, chili powder, onion powder, pepper, cayenne)
Instructions
- In a small sealable container, combine all spice mix ingredients.
- In a large freezer bag, whisk together marinade ingredients; add 3 tablespoons of spice mix and combine.
- Place the flank steak in the marinade bag and refrigerate for 4-12 hours.
- Before grilling, mix remaining spice mix with olive oil to create a rub.
- Pat dry the marinated steak and apply the spice rub evenly; let it rest at room temperature for 30-60 minutes.
- Grill over medium-high heat for about 5-6 minutes on each side until desired doneness is reached (130-135°F for medium rare).
- Rest the steak for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
