Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 2 cups marinara sauce, plus extra for serving
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until just mixed.
- Spread half of the mixture in the baking dish to form a base.
- Layer with half of the mozzarella cheese, spinach, and 1 cup of marinara sauce.
- Cover with the remaining meat mixture and seal edges.
- Top with the rest of the marinara sauce and bake for 45-50 minutes until cooked through.
- Add remaining mozzarella on top for an additional 5-10 minutes until melted.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
