Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices of chicken ham
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pound chicken breasts to a thickness of about ¼ inch. Layer each breast with a slice of chicken ham and cheese, then roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- Prepare a breading station: season flour with salt and pepper, dip each roll in flour, then beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat; sear each roll for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Place the rolls in a baking dish and bake for 20–25 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in flour for one minute, then gradually add milk while stirring. Mix in Dijon mustard and Parmesan cheese until thickened; season to taste.
- Remove toothpicks from chicken rolls, slice them into rounds, drizzle with cream sauce, and garnish if desired.
