- 2 large chicken breasts
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
- Flour (for dredging)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup dry white apple vinegar
- 3/4 cup heavy/whipping cream
Instructions
- Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise, season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat in flour.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Sear chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add remaining butter and sliced mushrooms with Italian seasoning. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until mushrooms release their moisture.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in white apple vinegar; scrape up browned bits and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.
- Mix in heavy cream and return chicken to the skillet. Cook for about 5 more minutes until chicken is fully cooked and sauce thickens slightly.
