  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup dry white apple vinegar
  • 3/4 cup heavy/whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise, season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then coat in flour.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Sear chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and sliced mushrooms with Italian seasoning. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until mushrooms release their moisture.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir in white apple vinegar; scrape up browned bits and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.
  6. Mix in heavy cream and return chicken to the skillet. Cook for about 5 more minutes until chicken is fully cooked and sauce thickens slightly.
