  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup chicken stock

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, dried sage, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until just combined. Form into 16 meatballs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides (about 6 minutes) and set aside.
  3. Boil peeled and cubed sweet potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (12–15 minutes), drain.
  4. In the same skillet, deglaze with apple cider vinegar, then add maple syrup and chicken stock; bring to simmer. Return meatballs to the skillet; cook covered for 8–10 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. Mash sweet potatoes with butter, heavy cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  6. Whisk in cold butter into the sauce off heat before serving.
