Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
- 1 cup Warm Water
- 4 cups All-Purpose White Flour
- 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 large Egg (for egg wash)
- 1 cup Chocolate Chips
- 1 cup Cheese
- 1/2 cup Almond Paste
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm water and active dry yeast in a mixing bowl; let it sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
- In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Gradually add the mixture to the yeast solution and stir until a rough dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–10 minutes until smooth.
- Chill the unsalted butter shaped into a rectangle between parchment paper for about 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and encase the butter by folding it over.
- Roll out again and fold into thirds like a letter; chill for at least an hour. Repeat this process two more times.
- After chilling, roll out once more, cut triangles, fill with desired ingredients, and roll towards the tip.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment, brush with egg wash, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–22 minutes until golden brown.
