Ingredients
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 5 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, chopped
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 pounds tri-tip steak
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, molasses, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, chili powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Add the tri-tip steaks to the marinade, turning to coat evenly. Cover and let marinate for at least one hour.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and brush grates with canola oil.
- Remove the steaks from the marinade (reserve marinade). Grill for about 5 minutes per side or until desired doneness is achieved.
- Let the grilled steaks rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Bring reserved marinade to a low boil in a saucepan and serve alongside sliced steak.
