Ingredients
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 3/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
- Zest from one orange
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup golden brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (or cinnamon)
- Optional: 2 tablespoons orange-flavored extract or plant-based gelling agent
Instructions
- In a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugars, orange juice, zest, and spice. Stir until the sugars dissolve.
- Add the cranberries and cook while stirring frequently until most of them pop and the mixture thickens (about 10 minutes).
- Reduce heat to low and mix in the optional extract or gelling agent; cook for an additional minute.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
