- 1 cup warm milk
- ¼ cup melted unsalted butter
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup raisins
- 3–3.5 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 3–4 tablespoons water
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- 2–3 teaspoons milk
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together warm milk, melted butter, and remaining sugar. Add salt and vanilla.
- Add the yeast mixture to the wet ingredients and mix well. Gradually incorporate 3 cups of flour along with spices until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, fold in raisins, divide into 12 portions, shape into balls, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise again for about an hour until puffy.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for about 22 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare icing by mixing powdered sugar with maple syrup and milk to desired consistency.
- Drizzle icing over cooled buns before serving.
