Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Cook rice in a medium pot with chicken broth and salt until tender.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook the chicken until golden brown; set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour. Gradually add milk and broth while whisking until thickened.
- Stir in seasonings and cheeses until melted.
- Return chicken to the skillet; spoon sauce over it to heat through.
- Serve over rice garnished with parsley.
