- 1 medium onion, finely chopped or grated
- 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and finely chopped
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges
- Fresh parsley or mint
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water with sugar and yeast; let sit until foamy.
- In another bowl, whisk flour and salt. Combine with the yeast mixture and olive oil to form dough.
- Knead until smooth; let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
- Prepare the topping by mixing ground meat with chopped vegetables and spices.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Roll out the dough into thin circles.
- Spread the meat mixture over each circle and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden.
