- 200 g granulated sugar
- 115 g unsalted butter, softened

- 190 g all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 120 ml whole milk
- 120 g powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 175°C and prepare a 23 cm round cake pan by greasing it and lining with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time until well combined.
- Mix in the freshly grated lemon zest and lemon juice until fully integrated.
- Gradually add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the mixture; stir gently to combine without overmixing.
- Pour in the milk and mix until you achieve a smooth batter.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared cake pan and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
- While baking, whisk together powdered sugar with lemon juice to create the glaze.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly before drizzling with glaze while still warm.
