- 1.5 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, salt, and pepper until just mixed.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
- For the glaze, whisk together ketchup and brown sugar in a small bowl.
- Spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes; then spread remaining glaze on top and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
