  • 14 oz cooked or frozen udon noodles
  • 1 tbsp vegetable or avocado oil
  • ½ small onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water (slurry)
  • 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • Optional: Sliced scallions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, black pepper, and cornstarch slurry; set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef for about 2-3 minutes until browned; remove from the pan.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic and sliced onion for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add cooked udon noodles and prepared sauce; toss until well-coated and heated through (about 2-3 minutes).
