  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 egg (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, red food coloring, flour, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and reserve a few tablespoons for swirling.
  4. In another bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  5. Spread cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter. Drop spoonfuls of reserved red batter on top and swirl gently with a toothpick.
  6. Bake for 28–32 minutes until edges are set but center remains slightly jiggly.
  7. Cool completely in the pan before refrigerating for at least one hour before serving.
