- 1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 15 oz can diced tomatoes
- 8 lasagna noodles broken into bite-sized pieces
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- ½ cup freshly grated parmesan
- 1 cup grated mozzarella
- ½ cup ricotta
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
- Transfer the cooked meat to your slow cooker and add diced onion, minced garlic, broth, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, and dried herbs. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6-8 hours or High for 3-4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in broken lasagna noodles and cover again until tender.
- At the end of cooking time, mix in balsamic vinegar and grated parmesan; season with salt and pepper.
- Serve topped with mozzarella, ricotta cheese, and fresh parsley.
