Ingredients
- 1 cup softened butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then blend in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually mix into the creamed mixture until fully incorporated.
- Spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared pan, then layer with cherry pie filling. Drop remaining batter over the top in small clumps.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
