  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup spring-colored M&Ms
  • ½ cup Easter sprinkles
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream or milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch round cake pan by lining it with foil and spraying with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. Gradually mix in baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar. Slowly incorporate flour until fully combined, then gently stir in M&Ms and sprinkles.
