  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Optional: 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For garnish: Sliced green onions, sesame seeds, fresh pineapple chunks

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey/chicken), breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper until mixed well but not overworked.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch) and place them on a baking sheet or skillet.
  3. Cook your meatballs by either baking at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes or pan-frying in oil over medium heat until browned.
  4. In a saucepan, mix ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and any optional ingredients like pineapple juice. Cook until bubbling and thickened.
  5. Add cooked meatballs to the sauce and stir gently to coat before serving.
