- 3 cups powdered sugar
- Extra caramel for dripping apple slices
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and spices.
- In another bowl, cream together softened butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until fluffy.
- Add applesauce, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk; mix well.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture gently until just incorporated.
- Fold in chopped apples.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan; bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack before frosting with caramel frosting.
