- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups dark chocolate (coarsely chopped or chips)
- Sea salt flakes (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the hard caramel using your preferred method.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the light brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, sea salt, and all-purpose flour until well combined.
- Add room temperature unsalted butter to the dry ingredients and cream until fluffy.
- Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the dark chocolate and prepared hard caramel until evenly distributed.
- Drop generous portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spaced two inches apart.
- Bake for about 12 minutes or until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack; sprinkle with sea salt flakes if desired.
