- 75g Golden Syrup
- 75g Soft Light Brown Sugar
- 50g Butter
- 500g Cooking Apples (peeled, cored, sliced)
- 500g Eating Apples (peeled, cored, sliced)
- 225g Plain Flour
- 150g Rolled Oats
- 150g Cold Diced Butter
- 75g Demerara Sugar
Instructions
- Prepare the Toffee Sauce: In a saucepan, combine golden syrup, brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and cream. Heat until melted and smooth. Set aside.
- Make the Crumble: In a bowl, mix plain flour, oats, and salt. Rub in cold butter until crumbly; stir in demerara sugar.
- Cook the Apples: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Cook both apple types in a saucepan with sugar for about 5 minutes until softened. Transfer to a baking dish.
- Assemble: Pour five tablespoons of cooled toffee sauce over apples and top with crumble mixture.
- Bake: Bake for 30–40 minutes until golden brown.
