Ingredients
- 1 Tbs olive oil
- 2 cups sliced carrots
- 2 cups sliced sweet potatoes
- 2 cups diced apple
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 lbs ground lean turkey
- 3 Tbs tomato paste
- 3 cups crushed tomatoes
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1–2 cans kidney beans
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Sauté diced apples, carrots, and sweet potatoes with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, sage, cinnamon, and nutmeg for about 5 minutes.
- Add ground turkey; cook until browned (5–7 minutes).
- Stir in tomato paste, chili powder, and additional seasonings.
- Add crushed tomatoes and simmer on low-medium heat for about 20–30 minutes.
- If using kidney beans, add them during the last few minutes of cooking.
