- 1 cup softened butter
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- Vanilla Buttercream Frosting (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch cake pan.
- In a large bowl, beat together softened butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
- Gradually mix in flour, salt, and baking soda until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely.
- Frost the cooled cake with vanilla buttercream and decorate with red, white, and blue M&Ms to create the flag design.
