- ½ cup buttermilk
- ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¾ cup cornstarch (or potato starch/tapioca starch)
- Avocado oil (for frying)
- 1 tablespoon chives (finely chopped for garnish)
- 4 ounces bang bang sauce
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine buttermilk, kosher salt, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well.
- Pour the marinade over the shrimp and let sit while heating oil.
- Coat each shrimp in cornstarch until fully covered.
- Heat about 2 inches of avocado oil in a Dutch oven to 375°F.
- Fry shrimp in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Toss cooked shrimp with bang bang sauce and garnish with chives before serving.
