Ingredients
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 2/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 11 oz soft goat cheese
- 2 cups oil (grapeseed, canola or vegetable oil)
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp minced fresh chives
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix flour and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk egg with salt and water. In a third bowl, add panko breadcrumbs.
- Roll goat cheese into 24 balls (about 1 tablespoon each). Coat each ball in flour, dip in the egg mixture, then roll in panko breadcrumbs. Freeze for about 20 minutes until firm.
- Heat oil in a deep saucepan until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Fry the cheese balls in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Drizzle with honey and sprinkle fresh chives before serving.
