- 1 cup warm water or milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 2 1/2–3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 7 tablespoons salted butter (room temperature)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl, mix warm water or milk with yeast and honey; let sit until bubbly (5-10 minutes).
- Add flour, salt, and 1 tablespoon butter; knead until smooth (about 3-4 minutes). Cover and let rise until doubled (1-2 hours).
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix granulated sugar with cinnamon in a bowl.
- Roll dough into a rectangle (16×14 inches), spread with remaining butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and chocolate.
- Fold in half, cut into strips, twist into knots, and place on the baking sheet.
- Combine melted butter with brown sugar and flour; spoon over knots.
- Bake for about 16-20 minutes until golden.
