- 1 box of brownie mix (or homemade brownies)
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup chopped toasted pecans
- 1 3/4 cups shredded coconut
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolk, and butter. Simmer for 8-10 minutes while whisking frequently.
- Remove from heat; stir in vanilla extract, pecans, and coconut until well combined.
- Spoon the mixture over cooled brownies and spread evenly.
- Allow frosting to set completely before cutting into squares.
