  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup beef broth or water

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent (about 5 minutes). Stir in garlic and ginger; cook for another minute.
  2. Add turmeric, cumin, coriander, paprika, and red chili powder; sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in pureed tomatoes and simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  4. Add beef cubes; cook for about 5 minutes until browned.
  5. Pour in beef broth (or water) and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cover; simmer for about 1.5 hours until beef is tender.
  6. Stir in plain yogurt and garam masala before serving hot with garlic naan or rice.
