Ingredients
- 6 cups strawberry tops
- 4 cups sugar
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- Wash your strawberries thoroughly to remove any dirt.
- Cut off the tops and set them aside for the syrup.
- In a small pot, combine the strawberry tops and water.
- Add an equal amount of sugar (4 cups) to the pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to simmer for 10-15 minutes until the liquid turns red.
- Strain out the solids using a strainer, pressing down to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Return the juice to the pot and bring it back to a boil until reduced by one-quarter and slightly thickened.
- Allow cooling before transferring to a clean jar for storage in the fridge.
