- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 TBSP softened butter (for icing)
- 2 TBSP milk (for icing)
- 3 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
- 5 TBSP milk (for icing)
- 2 TBSP corn syrup
- red and blue food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter. Add egg, sour cream, and vanilla; mix well.
- Gradually stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until smooth.
- Spread dough evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.
- For the icing, whisk powdered sugar, softened butter, and milk until smooth. Divide icing into three bowls; color one red and one blue.
- Spread white icing over cooled bars and pipe red and blue icing on top. Use a knife to swirl colors gently.
