  • 1 package instant dry yeast (8 grams or 2 ¼ tsp)
  • ⅓ cup ube halaya jam
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (softened, 14 grams)
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened, 28 grams)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • ⅔ cup confection sugar

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for a few minutes. Add egg, softened butter, and sugar; mix until blended.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt; mix until combined. Switch to dough hook and knead for 5-7 minutes until slightly sticky.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. For the filling, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and ube halaya jam in a bowl.
  5. Roll out dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (15×12 inches). Spread filling evenly over the dough.
  6. Roll tightly from one long end to form a log; cut into 9 equal pieces.
  7. Arrange rolls in a greased baking pan; let rise again for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 21-23 minutes until lightly browned.
  9. Prepare frosting by mixing cream cheese, butter, vanilla extract, salt, and confection sugar until smooth.
